Power & Starting Parts

Alternators, starters, and charging accessories for diesel engines across Thermo King® truck, trailer, and APU platforms.

Alternators

Thermo Engine Supply carries 12V alternators in 37A, 65A, 90A, and 120A ratings. Options include Sanden low-profile fanless units, Bosch variants, and an APU-specific 120A fanless model. Accessories include a bi-directional alternator fan, an alternator harness, 14V voltage regulators, and a regulator brush assembly.

Match amperage to your unit's electrical demand. Undersized alternators fail under continuous high-load conditions. For units with multiple accessories or extreme-temperature operation, verify that the alternator output exceeds the total system draw by at least 20%. Voltage regulators are stocked as integrated and external-mount options. Failed regulators cause overcharging (boiled batteries, damaged control boards) or undercharging (dead batteries, no-start). Verify regulator type and connector style before ordering.

Starters

Thermo Engine Supply stocks starters for diesel engines across Thermo King® TRU platforms, including a Tier 2-compliant unit. Refer to your engine's serial plate to confirm the engagement type and pinion specs. Call (800) 966-3105 for help matching the correct starter to your engine.

Sensors & Controls

Sensors, switches, relays, solenoids, and coils for temperature, pressure, level, speed, and fuel system monitoring across trailer, truck, and APU platforms. Stocked sensors include air temperature, camshaft, coolant level and temperature, exhaust temperature, oil level, RPM sensors, and discharge transducers. Switch inventory covers SPST, DPDT, start/stop/heat, oil pressure, water temperature, standby, defrost, and high-pressure cutout configurations. Relays include standard, shrouded, and defrost types. Fuel solenoids are stocked as injection pump types and complete assemblies. Clutch coils are available in 12V and 24V.

Wiring & Protection

Fuses, circuit breakers, and wiring accessories for power distribution and control board protection. Fuses are stocked in blade and cartridge styles across standard amperage ratings from 3A to 40A. Never substitute a fuse rated higher than specified; doing so can damage control boards and create fire hazards. Additional service parts include brush sets, cable, glow plugs, hourmeter, blower, solenoid diode, and coolant outlet resistor assemblies.
